LET’s EXPLORE ARIZONA!
ARANGATANGA MUSEUM: ARIZONA
story by TRICIA COHN
Riding along in a old blue jeep,
Schnooker and Vincent can not fall asleep.
Classic cars are sitting unfixed,
cruising along Route 66.
Don stops at a diner for an ice cream soda,
and sees a museum of all things Arizona.
The art on the wall
is bold and vibrant,
showcasing the history
of animal migrants.
While Don sleeps in a hotel nearby,
visions of finishing his art flash by.
Don compares his art piece to these,
but his is nowhere near complete.
He feels out of ease,
so packs up for the night,
heads back to the hotel on the right.
Inside the museum, the monkeys tiptoe,
so to avoid Vincent Van Gogh.
They jump in a painting of Lake Havasu,
As Schnooker squaks, ”Shoo! Shoo! Shoo!”
The monkeys overlook the Colorado River,
Atop Havasu’s London Bridge, with bricks colored bronze and silver.
At the Desert Botanical Garden, the Saguaro blooms in full power,
its spines are highly modified leaves, and the blossom is the state flower.
The monkeys find a ranch in Prescott,
a horse is in need of new shoes that fit.
Bluezy shows off his own styling kicks
while Jazzica plays with the pony named Trix.
Sedona is a magical place to be.
It is a vortex with special energy.
Red rock buttes and rising canyons,
hide Petroglyphic history by the Sinagua Indians.
Over a wash and through a dune,
The Wave appears, it feels like the moon.
The area is part of Navajo Nation,
Horseshoe Bend and Antelope Canyon
are in a nearby location.
The Grand Canyon is a magnificent site to behold,
with rocks dating back to 2 billion years old.
It’s one of Earth’s seven natural wonders,
Schnooker warns the monkeys, “don’t fall down under!”
Schnooker colored Arizona on Don’s piece of art,
Vincent sees the monkeys and loudly barks,
Schnooker squawks…
SSSHHHHH! Don’t dull his spark!
